America To Play River Rock Casino Resort

RICHMOND, BC (June 8, 2015)

Iconic folk rockers America are getting ready to embark on their summer tour which will include a date at the River Rock Casino Resort on Thursday, July 30, 2015.

It was in 1970 when America was formed by musicians Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek who the world soon discovered upon the release of the group’s chart-topping single, “A Horse With No Name” the following year. After winning a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1972, they went on to release numerous hits including “I Need You”, “Ventura Highway”, “Don’t Cross the River”, “Tin Man”, “Lonely People” and “Sister Golden Hair”.

In 1977, Peek decided to leave the fold in 1977 to pursue a solo career. Beckley and Bunnell then rose to the challenge and carried on as a duo releasing their smash single, “You Can Do Magic” in 1982. Additional hits during the 80’s included “Right Before Your Eyes” and “The Border”. America’s upcoming tour coincides with the release of their new album, Lost & Found … a rare and previously unreleased collection of original songs recorded over the past fifteen years.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10:00 am and are $49.50 & $39.50 (plus service charges).
